The Founder
Bethlehem Hadgu is a performing violist, educator, and founder of Exalt Chamber Music, whose journey reflects resilience, artistry, and a profound dedication to classical music and culture. Born in Eritrea, she immigrated to the United States in 2007 with her family, carrying with her a steadfast determination to pursue excellence.
Bethlehem is a proud graduate of The Juilliard School, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2022 and her Master’s degree in 2024, both under the prestigious Kovner Fellowship. Her artistry was further honed through the Perlman Music Program, where she had the privilege of collaborating with musical legends including Itzhak Perlman, Merry Peckham, and Donald Weilerstein.
A sought-after performer, Bethlehem has toured Europe with the celebrated Chineke! Orchestra and has graced iconic stages such as The Kennedy Center, Alice Tully Hall, and Carnegie Hall. Her talent and versatility have also been showcased as a featured artist on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series.
Inspired by her love for Western classical music and its enduring legacy, Bethlehem founded Exalt Chamber Music in 2024. This network of exceptional classical musicians seeks to celebrate and revitalize the values of Western civilization—pursuing excellence, honoring tradition, and uplifting the human spirit through transcendent chamber music performances.
When not on stage, Bethlehem enjoys hiking, cooking, creating a warm home-making life, and delving into classic literature.
